Rickenbacher was initially influenced by the surrealist Salvador Dali and René Magritte, whom he admired for their precise nature of the scenic realization. Later, due to his training at the School of Design in Basel, he was introduced to photo realistic painting. He worked in the Rhine city and was a member of the Professional Association visual artist in Switzerland (Visarte). His oeuvre comprises mainly ship parts, still lifes and landscapes.
