In 1906 Francois-Maurice Roganeau was the winner of the first Grand Prix de Rome in painting, and second prize in sculpture. He exhibited at the 1912 Salon and received a medal for his painting, Le Soir, the River. In 1917 he was responsible for the refurbishment of the Grand identical ceiling Theatre of Bordeaux, originally painted by Robin.
