Gracie is the daughter of the well-respected desert artist George Ward Tjungurrayi who mentored her on how to paint, along with her mother Nyungawarra Ward Napurrula. Gracie originally adopted the typical Pintupi dot painting technique using a subtle palette inspired by the colors of her father's homelands.
