At this time the tragic death of a boy of his age, blown up to pieces in the way home from school by a bomb from a plane during the civil war, left a lasting impression on him. After leaving primary school, he obtained the High School degree (Bachillerato) at evening classes and learned typing in the Plaza de Cuchilleros.
