Born in Marrakech in 1924, Moulay Ahmed Drissi was a farm worker up to the age of 19 and then a gardener in Marrakech. Self-taught, he had a strong interest for painting and sculpture. His meeting in 1945 with Swiss painters shaped the beginning of his career. He worked and lived abroad a lot (Sweden, Italy) most notably in Paris, where he remained for a while.
