Black patina / black marble base. Monumental versions of Jack Knife are in the permanent collections of the Denver Art Museum, Tucson Museum of Art, Rockwell Museum, Forbes Collection, and Booth Museum. The centerpiece of Old Town Scottsdale.

The painting was acquired by T.H. Brennen Fine Art from Ed Mell's estate. This painting was in the artist's personal collection. This painting is illustrated on pg. 35 in the book "Ed Mell's Southwest - Five Decades."
