Echeverria was founder of the Union of Painters, Sculptors and Engravers of Mexico and was part of the generation of La Ruptura. This was a period in which he collaborated with artists such as Vlady and Alberto Gironella; José Luis Cuevas, Pedro Coronel and Víctor Trapote and founded the Proteo Gallery. During his prolific career, he made more than 25 individual exhibitions in important galleries, museums and institutions in Mexico, the United States and various countries in Europe. Enrique Echeverria passed away in 1972.
