Pastel of longhorn grazing among the trees with misty atmospherics. Authentication and writeup by Michael Grauer. Unsigned, but dated in Frank Reaugh's handwriting. Grauer has identified frame as a Frank Reaugh design and is original to the piece. Larger than the typical Reaugh pastel.

Distinguished provenance and inscription by Miss Cowart of Dallas, TX who was a early educator / owner of an Oak Cliff finishing school for girls. She was an early patron of the artist and also employed Reaugh as an art teacher in her school. Inscription on verso of frame reads: "My sister Miss Cowart sends you a small picture of our Texas cattle painted by an artist of note in our country, Frank Reaugh"
