He became a teacher after settling in California. Jane Wilcox was the name that he used for still life and florals when producing paintings for the NY art houses affiliated with department store sellers. I vividly remember my mother telling the story of how he would work on several paintings at a time in the basement of their house with the Victrola playing classical music and turned on loud.
