Nice mixed media drawing by Marsh. He did a larger drawing of the same in 1944 also called "On the Docks" that sold at Christies in 1988 for 19,800 dollars.This drawing is one half the size. Signed verso on the verso of the frame "RMarsh".In good condition.20 by 16 with frame

Brush, wash, pen and ink on paper 1945 Signed, titled and dedicated in ink, lower right recto. The subject was Mary Elizabeth Nicholls of Pittsfield, MA, an artist. She was in NYC on VE Day and no doubt, had met and/or studied with the artist. Paper used was from a pamphlet of an English art show that had been traced to Mr. Marsh in 1944.

Painting is in excellent condition. Attached to the back of the painting is a label and catalog number from the William Benton collection.
