Barnes, art collector and founder of the Barnes Foundation, was an ardent supporter of the three brothers—awarding them scholarship money for study and travel and accompanying them to Europe where he introduced them to Henri Matisse. Barnes, art collector and founder of the Barnes Foundation, was an ardent supporter of the three brothers—awarding them scholarship money for study and travel and accompanying them to Europe where he introduced them to Henri Matisse.
