Albert Chevallier Tayler was an important English artist who specialized in portrait and genre painting, but was also involved in the plein-aire* methods of the Newlyn School.* He was a member of the British Royal Academy of Painters, and he studied at Heatherley's School of Art, Royal Academy Schools and with avant-garde painters in Paris.
