Alexandre Averine is a Russian Postwar & Contemporary painter who was born in 1952. Kogan was encouraged by Auguste Rodin early in his career to pursue sculpture. Living primarily between Paris, Munich and Amsterdam, he ran in the circles of Chagall, Kandisky, Jawlensky and Maillol. Unfortunately, much of his work was confiscated or destroyed during the Degenerate Art campaign.
