Born in Linthal, Switzerland on Nov. 3, 1892. Kundert worked as a waiter in Paris and clerked in a department store in Lima, Peru. During the 1930s wanderlust brought him to San Francisco where he began art studies. He then moved to Los Angeles and continued as a pupil of Nicolai Fechin who became his mentor and close friend.
