The process was time consuming, which meant that production has not been particularly large and exhibits were relatively rare. The influence of the Göteborg Kolorists and husband Ragnar Sandberg can not be ignored but Birgit Broms developed her own independent expression. Freedom and movement was a recurring element in her painting and her motifs consisted usually of skaters, archipelago boats and building facades. In the late 1970s she began to also work with portraits in which she depicted people whose faces she found fascinating, including Ingmar... Read full biography
