Christophe Boutin (° 1957) is one of the leading French artists of contemporary art in the 1980s. In 1983 he joined the movement of "Trans-Avant-Garde", a movement that appeared in Italy at the end of the 70s and created by a group of artists determined to react to the triumph of conceptual and minimalist art. The artist exhibited in numerous galleries and international institutions, including the PS1 in New York in 1986, Yvon Lambert in Paris in 1987, the Isy Brachot Gallery in Brussels in 1989, Giorgio Persano in Turin in 1992, etc. The artist destroyed his studio in 1991 and all the works that are preserved there.
