Born in the province of Chieti, Italy, Claudio Verna studied in Umbria from 1942 to 1956 and then in Florence. In 1961 he moved to Rome. A few experimental years followed before he joined the movement of ‘Analytical Painting’ around 1967. Verna has exhibited his work internationally, among others at the Biennale in Venice. In 1973 and 1983 he was winner of the art prize awarded by the Fondazione Michetti. (cko)
