Like many graffiti artists, John "Comet" Russo started painting subway cars at a very young age. Comet was one of the first writers in 1971 when graffiti was in its infancy. Comet with others, opened the way for other writers of that time and gave the graffiti community a strong foundation to build on. Comet joined the crew of Five Crazy formed by Death, Blade, Vamm, Spat and Tull 13. Comet and Blade continued to paint after the disappearance of the crew's reign as kings of the NYC graffiti on... Like many graffiti artists, John "Comet" Russo started painting subway cars at a very young age. Comet was one of the first writers in 1971 when graffiti was in its infancy. Comet with others, opened the way for other writers of that time and gave the graffiti community a strong foundation to build on. Comet joined the crew of Five Crazy formed by Death, Blade, Vamm, Spat and Tull 13. Comet and Blade continued to paint after the disappearance of the crew's reign as kings of the NYC graffiti on lines 2 and 5 of the metro for 7 years until 1981. At age 50, Comet returned to his passion again, and turned to the web to launch its new battle.
