He was a versatile artist who worked in various mediums such as painting, sculpture, drawing, poetry, scenography, curation, and collage. Seixas was also a traveller and spent time in Africa, India, and Asia while serving in the merchant navy. He collected indigenous artworks during his time in Angola and curated landmark exhibitions of Modern Portuguese art. Seixas' work is described as a 'poetics of the fantastic' and he weaves together central Surrealist paradoxes in his art. He passed away in 2020 at the age of 99 and was honoured in global exhibitions, including at UNESCO in Paris.
