He Daqiao was born in 1961, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. He graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the PLA Art Academy in 1993. He Daqiao has participated in various national exhibitions, including "Chinese Oil Painting", Shanghai, 1987, at which his 'Still Life' won the prize of excellence and the "The 92 Exhibition of Chinese Oil Painting", on which occasion he was similarly awarded. He Daqiao has participated in various national exhibitions, including "Chinese Oil Painting", Shanghai, 1987, at which his 'Still Life' won the prize of excellence and the "The 92 Exhibition of Chinese Oil Painting", on which occasion he was similarly awarded. In recent years his works have been regularly exhibited abroad and have consequently joined many overseas collections. Since 1992, his works have been included among the lots for auction by Christie's (Hong Kong), while 'Women', 'Still Life' and 'Toy Bear' were sold at the Spring and Autumn China Guardian auctions, 1994
