He was born in Norman, Oklahoma, and earned a BFA and MFA from the California Institute for the Arts where he studied under John Baldessari whose terse imagery much influenced Salle. He had his first solo exhibition at age 23 in Los Angeles. His work was in the 1993 Venice Biennale and in major retrospectives of the Whitney Museum. He lives... Read full biography
