Many of his paintings in those days were cloudscapes depicting the beauty he had observed flying airplanes. In 1960, he and his wife, Millie, having set out to explore the country from California, got no further than Arizona, living first in Sedona and later in Phoenix and from 1978 in Flagstaff. In...
