Emmy Thornam (Danish painter) 1852 - 1935. Emmy Marie Caroline Thornam was Danish painter and writer. Her parents were teacher Louis T. (1819-79) and Anine Charlotte Frederikke Norup (1824-95). Emmy Thornam grew up in Horsens with her sister Ludovica, who also bacame a painter. As a young woman Thorman was interested in drawing and painting, and with the support of her parents she underwent a long artistic training, starting at a technical school in Horsens, where she received drawing lessons.... Emmy Thornam grew up in Horsens with her sister Ludovica, who also bacame a painter. As a young woman Thorman was interested in drawing and painting, and with the support of her parents she underwent a long artistic training, starting at a technical school in Horsens, where she received drawing lessons. The program continued in Copenhagen., where she from 1873-75 she was a student at Vilhelm Kyhn's Drawing School for Women.
