Born in Siberia in 1915 in the detention center, Erich Grun studied in Berlin. He studied again after the war with artistic training that led him to the Werkkunstschule in Hannover. Grün's technique is strongly influenced by one of his two teachers at the Art School: Erich Rhein. He outlined his perception arising forms into the work and used this technique to fill it up specifically with iconographic details. He exhibited at home and abroad.
