Ernst Moritz Geyger was born in 1861, in Berlin. He was a sculptor, medalist, painter, engraver, and etcher. From 1877-78, he was in a student painting class at the art school in Berlin. From 1878-84, he studied at the Berlin academy under Paul Thumann, Otto Knille, Max Michael, and Paul Meyerheim. He then worked as a freelance painter.
