Eugen Kampf was born in 1861 in Aachen. Kampf, son of the Aachen painter and photographer August Kampf, studied painting at the art academies in Antwerp and then in Düsseldorf under Eugen Dücker. From 1880 he took part in exhibitions in the Munich Glass Palace, in Dresden, Leipzig and Düsseldorf as well as in the Great Berlin Art Exhibition.
