François Vandenberghe was born in Eure-et-Loir in 1951. He spent 27 years of his life in Gabon in Central Africa. At first Vandenberghe was less connected to the arts, and was more active in motorsport, where he won numerous titles. Eventually, he returned to his home country, where he began to process the impressions he had gathered on the African continent.
