Harry Horn completed a painter’s apprenticeship from 1945 to 1948. From 1977 to 1989 he worked in the painting workshop of the Berliner Volksbühne. This was followed by six years of training with the sculptor Gertrud Classen. In his sensitive images he depicts the understated beauty of the region between the Oder, the Elbe, and the Baltic Sea. As one critic observed, “Horn counters the hectic pace of our time with the stillness of the landscape.”.
