Heinrich Buntzen was a German-Danish landscape painter. After lessons with the Bünsow brothers, Buntzen continued his education autodidactically. He then studied at the Copenhagen Academy under L. Lund and J. P. Möller. In his early paintings he followed Eckersberg's example, and went on study trips that took him to Dresden, Munich and Rome. From 1863, he was a professor at the Copenhagen Academy, and was highly esteemed by his contemporaries for the meticulous elaboration of his motifs. Mus.:... Read full biography
