Henning Ryden, born in Sweden and keeping some of the characteristics of Swedish art in his American painting, is showing portraits and landscapes at the Babcock Galleries. Master Gordon Hough is the success among the portraits, the yellowness of hair and pinkness of cheek almost unbelievable, except to those who know blond children of such tender years, and the color scheme taken out of the hackneyed by the violet of his blouse and the background vigorously woven of violet and yellow with a strong brush stroke....
