In the early 1920's, Pfeiffer studied nude drawing at the university in Bonn, as a student of the sculptor Carl Menser. After that, he attended various classes at Bauhaus, as well as Weimar in Dessau, where Vassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee were his teachers. His oeuvre is characterized by his dedication to color. In 1956 his book 'L'Harmonie des couleurs', was published by Dunod in Paris. When the artist decided to quit his career as a painter, he charged his farther to destroy his oeuvre. The farther resisted, and shelved the works in the castle Poppelsdorfer in Bonn. In later decades, they were unexpectedly rediscovered....
