Most of his paintings depict landscapes in the Flanders region of Belgium and the North Brabant region of the Netherlands. Van Wijck was also a stained glass artist working in the Art Deco and Jugendstil styles. In 1895, van Wijck was awarded two medals while a student at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. He went on to exhibit at the Salon Triennal des Beaux-Arts in Brussels and at various salons in Antwerp. He was a member of the Antwerp artists' association, De Scalden, and of the art circles WIJ and Eigen Vorming.
