He accompanied the campaigns of the Austrian field marshal Prince Eugene of Savoy between 1708 and 1717. The large painting cycles were published in a collected book. He went to the court of the Elector Johann Wilhelm von der Pfalz in 1711. The painter spent most of his later life in Haag. He died in Amsterdam in 1733. Most of his works are today located at the Galleria...
