He enjoyed painting during his childhood and took classes with many of the local artists who live and paint in Bucks County. Jim continued his studies at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, he then moved to Palm Springs, California for eight years painting the West. His deep connection to the hills and valleys of scenic Pennsylvania brought him home from California. Today this forms the wellspring of his work. A true Pennsylvania native son, Jim loves the farms and rich landscapes of Bucks County. Today he lives in Upper Bucks just outside of Quakertown where his studio is located.
