He has received several awards, including the First National Gold Medal of Tabacalera de Pintura and the First Prize for Outdoor and Fast Painting in Sot de Chera. Checa's art has been praised and imitated, and he was selected in the Caja de Ahorros de Pintores Valencianos Book of Valencian Painters in 1985.
