Josef Jambor was born in 1887 in Pohledec. The author graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts. Jambor lived in Prague for a while and then traveled a lot. Jambor eventually returned to the Vysocina region. Throughout his work, for the rest of his life, he worked to prove the most beautiful landscape motifs can be found right at home, in the modest but magical highlands. Artist Josef Jambor passed away in 1964 in Tisnov.
