Receiving much recognition for his artistic oeuvre, Gagliardini exhibited both portraits and genre scenes at the Paris Salon from 1869 to 1880. In 1883, he was awarded an honorable mention, followed by a third place medal in 1884, a second place medal in 1886, a silver medal in 1889 at the Exposition Universelle, and a gold medal at the same event in 1900.
