Julius Friedlaender was born in Kopenhagen in 1810. Julius Friedlænder gives us an insight into the teaching practice of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. Friedlaender describes a collection of plaster casts grouped around Bertel Thorvaldsen's sculpture of Countess Osterman-Tolstaja (1815), which was drawn from during the day.
