Karl Robert Kummer was born in Dresden in 1810. Robert Kummer became a student of the Dresden Academy in 1825 at a young age of fifteen and received his artistic training from Carl August Richter and Johan Christian Clausen Dahl. With a royal scholarship, Kummer traveled to Italy for the first time in 1832/33. When he arrived in Naples, he was immediately drawn to Capri, where he really absorbed the natural beauties of the island. Karl Robert Kummer passed away in 1889 in Germany.... Read full biography
