The French diplomat and the team of artists and scientists who accompanied the ship to Toulon on the Handsome in 1784. After a stopover in Athens and Constantinople two months, Louis- François Cassas begins an expedition, a 'Grand Tour' that will take him to the ends of the Levant. The artist is going to draw the monuments and the most picturesque sites, according to a wish of the ambassador, who fully fund the trip.
