Mania Mavro was born in Odessa on August 24th, 1889. She began her career in Paris at the Salon des Artistes Français and then exhibited from 1922 onwards at the Salon des Tuileries and the Salon d'Automne. She paints mainly portraits, landscapes of Brittany, the South of France of Crozant, female nudes and still lifes. Mania Mavro also executed many nudes in sanguine; the body is sketched spontaneously.
