Around 1970 Gastini created his first sculptural works with lumps of lead. He started working with charcoal, colored chalk and cement, and from the 1980s also used wood, stone slabs, iron, animal hides or plastic sheets. Eventually, the works became more colorful and painterly. Marco Gastini now lives and works in his hometown of Turin. (tfa)
