Marjorie Mostyn, daughter of Thomas Mostyn, was an artist who studied at St John’s Wood School of Art and the Royal Academy London between 1912-1915 under John Singer Sargent. She was married to artist Leonard Fuller and together they moved to St Ives, Cornwall in 1938. Leonard opened the St Ives School of Painting, which Marjorie took over after his death in 1973. The present lot was first exhibited in 1916 at the Royal Academy.
