He is recognized in the pension rolls as-Martin. Brechal), a Revolutionary War vet, who was reportedly married 3 times and had about 12 or 13 children. I have been able to find him so far in the 1790, 1800 & 1820 census records. Per the pension index his last wife's name was Catharina or Catharine Cunifer or Cunifar....

Catherine lived from about 1771 until 1867. Martin's son-Martin Brechal, Jr., had 2. wives-Elizabeth Smith & Helen Dudley. Martin Brechal, Jr's first marriage yielded a daughter, Sarah Ann Brechal. She married Joseph Bailey and one of her sons, Martin...
