Nicola Forcella was born in 1868 and was an artist who travelled to Egypt in the late 1880s and set up a studio in Cairo. Forcella developed a keen interest in depicting everyday Egyptian life and painted a bustling scene of street vendors in 1892. Forcella taught in the Khedival Art School and remained in Cairo for much of his life. Forcella exhibited at the Société des Artistes Français in Cairo and was awarded the Imperial Order of the Medjidie. Nicola Forcella passed away in 1868.... Read full biography
