The Danish painter Ole Heerup, the son of Henry Heerup, was born in 1934. From 1957 to 1959, he was a student of Niels Lergaard at the Art Academy. He developed a spontaneous and strong color expression, in which the recognizable forms dissolve. As a member of Koloristerne, Heerup presented his works in 1974 and received the "Eckersbergs Medal" in 1989.
