He became a soloist with a choir in his home country and then came to America in 1905 with fellow Mormon convert, Christian Johannesen (father of famed pianist, Grant Johannesen). Once in Salt Lake City, Fjellboe became a member of the local Norwegian Chorus and was increasingly well-known for rather richly painted though quite similar views in oil of Utah's mountain landscape....
