Philip Brown Parsons was born in West Medford, Massachusetts in 1896. He attended the Boston School of Painting and the Child-Walker School of Art in Boston, and studied with Howard Smith and William Frederick Foster, both former pupils of Howard Pyle. Parsons did innumerable covers and illustrations for 4-H Horizons, National Sportsman, Hunting and Fishing, Outdoors and other sportsman publications.
