Lenordez was born in Vast and lived in Caen. An early animalier sculptor, he specialized in equestrian bronzes. His horses are rendered using the anatomical conventions of the early to mid 19th Century and are reminiscent of racing paintings of the same time. His first recorded work is a wax model entitled The Baron ,which he exhibited at the Exposition Universelle in 1855. He also exhibited at the Paris Salon between 1861 and 1877, including a plaster model of Post Horse in 1867, and a plaster... Read full biography

His first recorded work is a wax model entitled The Baron ,which he exhibited at the Exposition Universelle in 1855. He also exhibited at the Paris Salon between 1861 and 1877, including a plaster model of Post Horse in 1867, and a plaster model and bronze version of A Hunter with a Huntsman Up Blowing a Horn in 1876. The Broquin and Laine founders are thought to have cast his works.
