He was accepted by the Catalan avant-garde, and began studying Catalan folk art. He engaged in discussions with colleagues like Clavé, Picasso and Miró. Works by the Barcelona Group, to which he belonged, were shown at the Sala Gaspar gallery. Llovet's interests, besides painting and printmaking, were poetry and philosophy.
